It is tough to grow greens like lettuce and spinach in hot weather. These plants just bolt, or go to seed in the heat. With a little research and creativity you can find greens that will grow and even flourish in a hot climate. Malabar spinach and Okinawan Spinach are two examples.
Grab a good protein source to go with this, sardines, chicken, eggs or maybe grass fed beef, if that’s your thing.
Smoothies are a great way to get more leafy greens into your diet, without having to eat more vegetables. If you don’t like the taste of vegetables, you can always try to disguise them in a smoothie.
